Professional Advisory Committee Applications Are Open!

The ESOP Association
EO23 - Legislative and Regulatory Advisory Committee

All ESOP Association members are eligible to apply to join any of the Association’s six Professional Advisory Committees.  The Advisory Committees' mission is to help identify emerging issues, discuss best practices, and formulate the educational content for the hundreds of educational conference sessions held throughout the nation each year.

Advisory Committee members play an active role in producing content appearing in ESOP Association publications, webinars, and events. Committee members also have opportunities to develop professionally, work on new ideas, network with peers, and develop new contacts.
A description of all Advisory Committees can be found on The ESOP Association’s website here: esopassociation.org/advisory-committees

All members are eligible to apply for all committees, however members can only be selected to serve on one committee at a time. Please click here to join/reapply (once logged in, the application will auto populate your information).

Starting with next year’s applications in 2025, the ESOP Association’s Board of Directors has adopted new policy guidelines for Advisory Committee membership.  These updates do not affect those applying/reapplying now but should be taken into consideration during 2024 and will affect all applicants next year.  The new policy guidelines, located here, have updated the participation requirements for all Regular/Associate members to include a required donation to the Employee Ownership Foundation or the ESOP PAC of no less than $250 during the 12-month period of May 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025.

Often, several committees receive far more qualified applications than seats available.  To assist in evaluating applications in these circumstances, the Board adopted additional participation considerations that will be weighed while evaluating applications submitted in future years, including:

  1. Authoring or contributing to an ESOP Association publication, newsletter article, or other similar written, video, or other educational material produced for the benefit of the association’s membership within the prior two years.
  2. Serving as a volunteer leader at the Chapter or National level of The ESOP Association or the Employee Ownership Foundation.
  3. Participating in The ESOP Association’s Advocacy Day within the prior two years.

Should you have any questions on these updated policies or have questions on the current application process, please contact Jennifer Edwards, VP of Member Services at jedwards@esopassociation.org

The application deadline is March 22, 2024.
